In February 2019, Dame Shiprepair Dunkerque (DSDu) hosted the 186-metre RoPax ferry Côte Des Dunes for an eight-day maintenance stop. Owned by DFDS, one of northern Europe’s leading ferry operators, the vessel serves on Europe’s busiest ferry route, from the UK’s Dover to Calais in France.

With the Côte Des Dunes having completed a full refit in 2016, the work sheet for the eight days at DSDu covered a range of mostly small projects, with a complete hydro-blasting and repaint of her entire hull below the waterline being the most significant. At the same time her thrusters were removed and overhauled and a series of small steel repairs undertaken on board along with a number of clearances and tank cleaning assignments. She left the yard on time and fully ready to continue the frantic life of a short-haul, cross channel ferry.
