‘Waddenzee’ shellfish dredger renewed at Damen Shipyards Den Helder
Between 26 October and 11 November, ‘Waddenzee’, a shellfish dredger owned by Waddenzee BV, was in Damen Shipyards Den Helder for maintenance works.
During that time, the yard executed a number of tasks, including cleaning of the underwater part of the vessel up to the load waterline with a high pressure (170 bar) waterjet. Following this, the cleaned area was painted with one coat of primer and one of anti-fouling paint.
Further to this, the propeller and propeller shaft were removed for inspection and a part of the hull’s plating of the cargo space was renewed.
Damen Shipyards Den Helder Project Manager Rein Peter Mulder, said, “Waddenzee BV is a repeat customer of Damen Shipyards Den Helder, returning regularly as a result of the good and long-standing relationship that exists between the company and the yard.”
