Fishing vessel ‘Atlantsfarid’ receives survey work, major overhaul and refit work at Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam
The pelagic fishing vessel ‘Atlantsfarid VA-218’ entered Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam for a complete refit and survey.
Work took place over the winter months to fit in with the owner of the vessel.
Extensive upgrades and repairs were required to be carried out, from servicing of all the engines to the overhaul of the winches.
The wide range of tasks required included the five-yearly survey of all three hydraulic deck cranes and five-yearly inspection of all safety items.
In addition a detailed survey and work was carried out to ensure ‘Atlantsfarid VA-218’ met the Lloyds Register requirements.
The owner, who operates ‘Atlantsfarid VA-218’in the Faeroe Islands, was satisfied with the quality of the work undertaken.
Other tasks carried out included:
Workers at Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam also carried out work to the refrigerated sea water tank which included repairs to the steel circulation lines and the steel parts of the vacuum lines plus the steel ladders.
The top of the tank was renewed with a rubber top layer finished with a PU top coating.
The forward bridge console, nautical and fish finding equipment were also renewed.
