2004
Damen Shipyards Group merged the 4 Rotterdam ship maintenance, -repair and conversion yards into one big yard: Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam B.V. (DSR)
The 4 yards that became part of DSR were the former yards:
    - Niehuis & Van den Berg B.V.
    - Vlaardingen Oost Shiprepair B.V.
    - Rotterdam United Dockyard B.V.
    - Van Brink Shipyard B.V.
Following this merger the facilities were reconstructed in such a way that one location was closed down (the former Vlaardingen Oost yard). Thus DSR operated from 3 different locations and moved the Anchor & Chain Factory to Schiedam.

2005
The restructuring of the facilities was followed by restructuring of the organization of DSR aiming for improvement of services to the customers. Amongst other dedicated project teams were introduced, the yard management was restructured to an elementary organization and a higher level of control was introduced. Furthermore it was decided to re-introduce Van Brink into the market as Business Unit of DSR with its own responsibilities for marketing & sales, project handling and production philosophy.

For further enhance the improvements it was decided to move Van Brink Rotterdam from its present location to another location in Pernis with more water depth. This will enable Van Brink Rotterdam to also accommodate tug- and workboats besides the smaller seagoing and inland vessels.

2006
DSR will continue to improve the organisation and invest in personnel and facilities. In the first quarter Van Brink will move to its new location.
